iberty County is situated on the coast of Georgia in the Southeastern United States, lying between South Carolina and Florida. As shown on the map below, several major highways provide easy access to the area, including Interstate 95 and U.S. Highway 17, both traversing north and south along the coastal fringes, and U.S. Highway 84 and State Route 196 from the east and west. A coastal county, it is approximately 40 miles from South Carolina and 70 miles from Florida. Interstate 95 makes a stop in Liberty County at Exit 76, as does scenic U.S. Highway 17. A trip from Liberty County to Atlanta, Georgia's capital, takes about 4.5 hours. Macon, Georgia, is almost 3 hours away, and Jacksonville, Florida, is only a short 1.5 hour drive. From Midway or Ludowici [arriving on U.S. 84 via Interstate 95 (Exit 13) or U.S. 84 from Ludowici]: Entering Hinesville on Highway 84, turn onto Martin Luther King Jr. Drive (third traffic light when entering Hinesville from the east, or second traffic light when entering from the west) and, at the first street (Main Street), turn right. The Courthouse is the first large building on the right.
From Interstate 95 (exiting at Exit 13): Turn onto Highway 84 and head toward Midway. Proceed through Midway, staying on Highway 84. Follow the directions above.
From Glennville (via State Route 196: Proceed on Highway 196 and, at the intersection of Highway 196 and Main Street in Hinesville (just past the U.S.A. gas station), turn left onto Main Street. Just past the second traffic light, the Courthouse is situated. It is the first large building.
From Pembroke or Statesboro (arriving on State Route 119 through Fort Stewart): Proceed on Highway 119 through Fort Stewart, turning left just past the last traffic light on Highway 119, onto Memorial Drive in Hinesville, which intersects within a mile with Main Street. Turn right onto Main Street. The Courthouse is the second large building on the left.
From Savannah and Richmond Hill: Take Interstate 95 south. Exit at the Coastal Higway 17 exit. Turn left, heading south on Highway 17. Approximately five miles south, turn onto State Route 196 (right off Highway 17). Proceed until Highway 196 intersects with U.S. Highway 84. Turn right onto Highway 84. Entering Hinesville on Highway 84, Turn onto Martin Luther King Jr. Drive (third traffic light when entering Hinesville from the east, or second traffic light when entering from the west) and, at the first street (Main Street), turn right. The Courthouse is the first large building on the right.
From Interstate 16:
(when driving through Fort Stewart, strict compliance with speed limits is strongly encouraged).
Either of the routes below are suggested:
  • Exit onto State Route 23/57 at Aline. Stay on State Route 23 until reaching Glennville. At Glennville, proceed onto State Route 144 toward Fort Stewart. At the junction of State Route 144 and State Route 119, turn right, toward Fort Stewart. Proceed on Highway 119 through Fort Stewart, turning left just past the last traffic light on Highway 119, onto Memorial Drive in Hinesville, which intersects within a mile with Main Street. Turn right onto Main Street. The Courthouse is the second large building on the left. Or,
  • Exit onto State Route 23/57 at Aline. Stay on State Route 23 until reaching Glennville. At Glennville, turn right onto U.S. 301 (sourth). Approximately four miles, turn left onto State Route 196 to Hinesville. Proceed on Highway 196 and, at the intersection of Highway 196 and Main Street in Hinesville (just past the U.S.A. gas station), turn left onto Main Street. Just past the second traffic light, the Courthouse is situated. It is the first large building. Or,
  • Exit onto Highway 199 (Pembroke Exit). Proceed on Highway 119 through Pembroke, toward Fort Stewart. Drive through Fort Stewart, turning left just past the last traffic light on Highway 119, onto Memorial Drive in Hinesville, which intersects within a mile with Main Street. Turn right onto Main Street. The Courthouse is the second large building on the left.
